My Journey
In college, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, an autoimmune condition. The symptoms were severe, and at the time, Crohn’s was considered “incurable.”
Through twice daily Qigong practice, my symptoms gradually subsided, and after five years, I was completely off medication. Today, more than 30 years later, I remain Crohn’s-free.
This experience revealed the body’s remarkable self-healing potential and inspired me to spend two decades researching and exploring a broad spectrum of holistic, science-backed practices — from yoga and meditation to nutrition and modern therapies.
With a background in health education and medical device, I’ve been teaching longevity exercises and light therapy for the past three year, which led to the creation of 12-Pillars Of Holistic Longevity Living: a 3-day Holistic Longevity Workshop that blends scientific insights with ancient wisdom of QiGong to activate one’s innate healing power within.
The program equips participants with knowledge, skills, habits and roadmap to feel look and function years younger than their age and build a lasting foundation for vitality.

I started to have bad shoulder pain on my right side in early March 2024. It was getting worse by the day. The pain got so bad that I cried out in helplessness and frustration. Many sleepless nights later, my sister took me to the Emergency Room. After hours of waiting and having various tests, the doctor reviewed the images of my shoulder. She gave me a morphine shot, a referal to an orthopedic specialist, and prescribed three strong painkillers. I slept for 21 hours straight after taking the meds that night.
The following days I had slightly less pain than before, but I was drowsy and sluggish from the medication. I could not drive. I was also concerned about the opioids I was taking. My pain was not much better. I knew I could not keep taking this number of pills. I set an appointment with the referred orthopedic doctor.
Fortunately, I tried John’s suggestion of using red light therapy with an individualized exercise plan. This personalized approach made it possible to utilize the red-light device in the best way possible for my problem. I noticed improvement after about a week. After two weeks, I was able to get off all pills. I kept doing the exercises in conjunction with the red-light treatment. The pain finally went away after a few weeks.
Shortly after working with John, I went to an appointment with the referred orthopedic specialist. He recommended a surgery. I told him I would put off the surgery as the last option. I did set a follow with the orthopedic just in case. By the time for my followup appointment with the orthopedic, my shoulder pain subsided considerablly afer working with John.
During the followup appointment with the orthopedic specialist, he took a new set of imaging of my right shoulder. I told him my shoulder was much better because of my exercise and light therapy. He was happy for me. He also noticed visible improvements around the joints in the last set of images versus the images when I went to the ER. He pointed them out to me. It was very interesting to see the evidence of change.
Now it’s September, no pain!
